Taking care of the Moku‘ula Restoration Site at the corner of Shaw and Front Streets in Lahaina is one of the many duties Friends of Moku‘ula does to honor Kihawahine and the significance of this important cultural site. On the third Saturday of the month, from 8 am to 11 am, join our executive director and groundskeeper to mālama Moku‘ula. You can help spread topsoil and mulch at the ceremonial area in front of the pōhaku monument, and help us keep the site free of trash and debris.

Please wear closed toe shoes as well as protective gear like gloves, a hat and sunscreen, and bring your shovel or rake, if you have them. Cold water will be provided.

A parking space in the open-air Moku‘ula lot at the corner of Shaw and Front Streets will be available for you. Look for our colorful new signs in the display case at the Front Street entrance to the lot! (see above photo)  Please register as a volunteer by clicking on the blue “Volunteer” button on this page and completing the easy online form. For more details, call 808-661-3659.
