The ‘ohana of Friends of Moku‘ula and Maui Nei Native Expeditions wish you a holiday season filled with cheer and a joyful new year. We thank you for your generosity of spirit and support of our 2015 programs. We’re looking forward to seeing you again in 2016 for more mele, mo‘olelo and mana‘o at Moku‘ula by Moonlight …

Please join us on one (or all) of these dates in 2016:

Tuesday, March 22

Monday, June 20

Thursday, September 15

Tuesday, December 13

This free educational program runs from 6 to 8 pm in Spring and Winter and from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in Summer and Fall. Join us at Hale Halawai in Kamehameha Iki Park, 525 Front Street, Lahaina on these full moon nights for music, storytelling and sharing!

We also invite you to try our new cultural immersion program, Discover Old Hawai‘i. During this interactive program-tour, which is 3.5 hours in length, you will learn Hawaiian cultural arts and skills while listening to stories of Lahaina’s sacred sites and a traditional way of life. At each wahi pana, a Maui Nei kumu (teacher/guide) shows you how to make a cultural item, using traditional methods of old Hawai‘i while explaining the background of his or her special skill and the history of its uses. At the end of this program, you’ll come away with highly valued knowledge about a sustainable way of living from old Hawai‘i and Lahaina’s sacred places as well as handcrafted cultural amenities. Discover Old Hawai‘i is offered three days a week. To learn more, see MauiNei.
