Qualifications

  • B.S. or better in Education, Agricultural Sciences, Biology or similar.
  • 3 years experience in education, classroom and/or administration or curriculum development. Previous management or supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication skills, writing, computer, telephone
  • Working understanding of Hawaiian Language and Culture (1 to 2 years study)
  • Excellent organization skills, planning and scheduling, able to set and meet goals and deadlines.
  • People-oriented, mission driven, creative, independent thinker, motivated and a motivator.

This position requires that responsibilities be performed independently. This position is responsible to the Executive Director and primary responsibilities include program development and coordination in the areas of education, community relations, volunteers and site preservation.

  • Develop and coordinate educational and outreach programs.
  • Develop and coordinate community events.
  • Provide staff support for board activities.
  • Assists in grant writing.
  • Develop and coordinate volunteer program.
  • Assists in coordinating site preservation activities with community.
  • Oversee Maui Nei operations and development.
  • All other duties as assigned.
