Qualifications
- B.A./B.S. or higher in Education, Hawaiian Studies, Anthropology, Ecology or similar.
- Experience working on historically significant projects or sites.
- Experience in education, classroom and/or administration or curriculum development.
- Min. 2 years experience in grant writing (both local and national grants).
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Working understanding of Hawaiian Language and Culture (1 to 2 years study).
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines and work on multiple projects at once.
- People-oriented, mission driven, creative, independent thinker, motivated and a motivator, and can work independently and part of a team.
- Computer literate.
Description (Primary responsibilities include)
- Program development and coordination in the areas of site preservation and restoration, education and outreach, and perpetuation of Hawaiian culture.
- Grant Writing & Management - including, coordinating all aspects of grant research, development, budget development, submittal and award process. Grant reporting, as stipulated in award.
- Assists in the development and coordination of fundraising and community events.
- Assists in the coordination/implementation of marketing activities.
- Develop and coordinate volunteer program.
- Assists in coordinating site preservation activities with community.
- All other duties as assigned.
Contract: 15-20 hours/week
