Friends of Moku`ula

Purpose and Mission

To educate the Hawaiian and non-Hawaiian community on the significance of historical sites in a non-exploitive environment; to initiate the process of restoring, protecting and preserving historically significant sites including the Hawaiian island and pond at Lahaina known as Moku‘ula and Mokuhinia and; to create diverse economic opportunities through historic preservation.

We endeavor to incorporate in our work the Hawaiian values of aloha, mālāma, mahele, ‘ike papalua, ho‘omana and ho‘okipa.

are pleased to welcome
Hokulani Holt as Cultural Consultant

The board of directors of Friends of Moku`ula, Inc. announced today that Hokulani Holt, renowned kumu hula and Hawaiian cultural specialist, has joined the organization in the position of cultural consultant. In this role, Kumu Holt will lead the Friends of Moku`ula in matters of Hawaiian cultural protocol and liaise with the community at large on cultural issues relating to the Friends of Moku`ula, its ongoing projects and planned programs.
